October 3, 2007
Saskatchewan Arts Alliance welcomes the increase in new funding to the arts sector announced by Premier Calvert today.
“The announcement is a real boost. It follows months of sustained advocacy by the arts community,” said Mr. Kim Houghtaling, SAA President. “We hope this is a sign of a long-term strategic investment in our sector.”
The new resources have the potential to address many of the pressures sustained by the sector over the past decade or so, and to move forward on some initiatives long on the planning books.
Investment in the sector is an investment in the future of the province. A culturally vibrant Saskatchewan is a province where all the people benefit from an enriched quality of life.
