The Ministry is hosting a short online questionnaire seeking your opinions and ideas. The questions will be available until September 20, 2015. Share your thoughts.

CREATIVE SASKATCHEWAN IS SEEKING JURORS 

Creative Saskatchewan is seeking jurors to assess applications received for the Investment Grant programs. The next intake application deadline is September 25, 2015 and the adjudication process will occur from October 1-16, 2015. For more information, please visit their website.


CREATIVE SASKATCHEWAN ANNOUNCES INCREASED FUNDING FLEXIBILITY

Regulation changes enable the agency to commit funding up to $600,000 per applicant each year. This is an increase over the previous threshold of $250,000 per applicant per year. These changes are the result of ongoing consultations with the creative industries to ensure programming meets their needs. See more.

SASKBOOKS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS AUGUST 

How to Select and Pitch Your Books with Evan Munday

Learn how to pitch to the media, how to write a media release that will garner attention, and how to prepare the different types of media releases. Authors who promote their own books are welcome to attend this session. Cost for members is $50.00 per person and $60.00 non-members. Deadline to register is August 24, 2015. The session will be in both Saskatoon and Regina:

The CIF is hitting the road from September 8th-11th to host grant writing workshops in Northern Saskatchewan communities.

The first half of this workshop provides information on the CIF and the projects it funds as well as shares basic tips and resources for writing successful grant applications. The second half of this workshop is optional as it provides a hands-on opportunity for you to ask questions and get your application process started! PIERRE LASSONDE APPOINTED CANADA COUNCIL CHAIR

The Canada Council welcomed the appointment of Pierre Lassonde as the new Chair of its board. A well-respected businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Lassonde assumes the role effective immediately. Read more about Mr. Lassonde and his appointment here.

The Creative Industry Associations are in a new location in Regina, 1831 College Avenue. The Creative Industry Associations include Saskatchewan Media Production Industry Association, Saskatchewan Interactive Media Association, SaskBooks, SaskGalleries, SaskMusic, and Creative Saskatchewan. Located on the S.W. corner of College Avenue and Broad Street – parking is available out front.

The Saskatchewan Arts Alliance is a non-profit coalition of arts organizations that provides a collective voice for the arts in Saskatchewan. Established in 1984, SAA advocates on issues such as public funding of the arts, freedom of expression and artists’ working conditions.
