Introducing SAA’s 2018-19 Board of Directors
It was a full house! Thanks to everyone who came out to the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance’s (SAA) 2018 Community Forum and AGM on the cold and rainy day of Saturday, September 22. Issues around Universal Basic Income were discussed and a Mass Culture consultation was held with the community in attendance.
SAA is pleased to introduce its 2018/2019 Board of Directors.
Newly elected board members are Rob Bos, visual artist and arts administrator; Will Brooks, Artistic Director, Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan; returning to the Board from an interim position is Karen Reynaud, General Manager of Saskatoon Opera.
Dr. Kathryn Ricketts, dance artist, educator, and Assistant Professor in Arts Education at the University of Regina remains as President: Here at the SAA we work hard to champion the arts through our research and advocacy efforts. I am honoured to be part of such a vital and dynamic organization that continues to move towards a province where the arts not only survive but thrive!
Remaining on the Board are Past President Kelley Jo Burke, writer, playwright and broadcaster; Mary Blackstone, Professor Emerita in the Department of Theatre and Director of the Centre for the Study of Script Development at the U of R; James Hodges, President of Roadside Attractions Inc., and independent producer of theatre, dance and music; Daniel Parr, Program Officer, SaskBooks; and Risa Payant, Executive Director, Common Weal Community Arts.
