Preventing Burnout

Training Description:
Fatigue and burn out are not new risks within the non-profit sector, the ongoing pandemic,
inflation, and the current social and political climate are contributing more stress to an already
stressed-out sector. This workshop will address burn out through a collective community based
approach and will create space to discuss preventative system changes that can be made at an
organizational level, rather than reactive individual responses. The training will include a slide
deck presentation, a digital tool to allow for anonymous participation, breakout discussion
groups, and activities.

Facilitator Biography:
Amanda Guthrie is an experienced leader, educator, and facilitator who is passionate about
building sustainable, supportive, and just environments.
Her experience includes working within the private and public sector, along with holding
leadership positions including Interim Executive Director at OUTSaskatoon, Saskatoon’s
2SLGBTQ organization. Amanda now works as a Senior Consultant at Ivy + Dean Consulting,
where she provides queer-informed and equity focused support to agencies across the
province.Outside of her professional work, Amanda volunteers her time as the Board Chair Quint
