Introducing SAA’s 2021-22 Board of Directors

Thanks to everyone who attended the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance’s (SAA) 2021 Strategic Plan Review and AGM on a beautifully sunny day of Wednesday, September 22. Jeremy Morgan presented SAA’s new strategic plan and welcomed feedback from those present.

At the AGM, a thank you and round of applause was given for Executive Director Marnie Gladwell who after 23 years is retiring. Congratulations to Marnie, a long-standing leader and ally of the arts, for a critical job well done! Em Ironstar was welcomed as the incoming Executive Director.

“We are incredibly proud of the work that has been done over the years and the positive impact that SAA has made,” says President Jaime Boldt. “Not only did the [recent] strategic planning exercise and mandate review provide opportunity to reflect on the decades of positive impact of the work of the SAA, but so too did the retirement announcement of Executive Director, Marnie Gladwell. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Marnie. It has been an absolute pleasure.”

SAA is pleased to introduce its 2021/2022 Board of Directors.

Newly elected board members are Tara Janzen Director of Development for the Remai Modern; Olivia Kristoff, Indigenous art curator and writer; re-elected to the Board; Mary Blackstone, Professor Emerita in the Department of Theatre and Director of the Centre for the Study of Script Development at the U Regina; Jaime Boldt, Executive Director, Globe Theatre; and Daniel Parr, Program Officer, SaskBooks.

Remaining on the Board is Past President Dr. Kathryn Ricketts, dance artist, educator, associate professor, and Director of the Professional Development and Field Experience in the Faculty of Education, University of Regina.
