ARTS BOARD RECEIVES FUNDING FOR CULTURE ON THE GO
The Government of Saskatchewan announced an additional $800,000 investment in Saskatchewan’s cultural sector with renewed funding for the Culture on the Go program. The program is designed to help Saskatchewan artists and organizations tour and present shows. For more information.
COMMUNITY MEETINGS RE: THE FUTURE OF CLAYBANK BRICK PLANT
The Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation has partnered with the Prince’s Charities Canada to undertake a full review of the operations at Claybank Brick Plant National Historic Site. The partnership will benefit from the expertise of the Prince’s Regeneration Trust who will, for the first time, be undertaking a project outside of the United Kingdom.
The Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation holds Claybank in trust for the people of Saskatchewan and encourages anyone with an interest in the future of the site to attend one of three community meetings. Meetings will be held in Avonlea on July 26, Regina on July 27, and Moose Jaw on July 28. Everyone is invited to attend. LIVE Arts is seeking proposals from artists for a broadcast/workshop program to take place on September 29, 2015 as part of the upcoming 2nd International Festival of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEMfest) in Saskatoon. For more information.
COMMUNITY PLACES AND SPACES PROGRAM EXTENDED!
The Community Initiatives Fund (CIF) announces the extension of the popular Community Places and Spaces Program! Targeted to end March 31, 2016 the program will now end March 31, 2017. This means 2 application deadlines remain: October 1, 2015 and October 1, 2016. The program supports small capital renovations that improve the quality, sustainability, and long-term use of multi-purpose community facilities such as halls, recreation facilities, and playgrounds. The Art Gallery of Regina is a public art gallery and a registered charity, known for its strong level of community engagement. The Director/Curator position is both CEO and artistic director requiring leadership and artistic vision as well as a broad range of skills including planning and administration, accounting and financial management, exhibition curating, program development and evaluation, and fundraising. The Canadian Commission for UNESCO (CCUNESCO) is seeking new members to join its Youth Advisory Group from the provinces of Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and the Northern Territories.
