SUMMARY OF ARTS COMMUNITY MEETINGS WITH SASKATCHEWAN ARTS BOARD
To address the concerns expressed by its members, the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance (SAA) called two meetings of the arts community to discuss the changes happening at the Saskatchewan Arts Board. These meetings were held in Regina on May 19th and in Saskatoon on May 21st.
There was standing room only at the meetings, approximately 93 people in Regina and 68 in Saskatoon. SAA invited representatives of the Saskatchewan Arts Board to speak at the meetings – both meetings were attended by Interim CEO Ranjan Thakre and board member Ken Azzopardi. KELLEY JO BURKE RESUMES HER POST AS SAA PRESIDENT
Kelley Jo Burke returns to her post as President of the SAA after stepping down temporarily. Burke and SAA board members thanked Vice President Marcus Miller who stepped in while she was away.

Plan to attend SAA’s upcoming Annual General Meeting and Community Form in Saskatoon on October 3 at the Refinery. Don’t miss this opportunity to network and voice your views on what’s happening in the local arts community.

COMMON WEAL COMMUNITY ARTS ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

CCNC PUBLIC ART NETWORK
The Creative City Network of Canada (CCNC) is establishing a CCNC Public Art Network in order to provide support for the development and promotion of best practices for people working in the field of public art.
CCNC is interested in hearing from the arts community on how the creation of a national CCNC Public Art Network could support the work you do, and how you would want to be involved. To fill out the survey.

EQUITY IN THEATRE LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE
Equity in Theatre (EIT) launched its new website. Given the decline in rates of representation for women playwrights in recent years, and the trickledown effect this has in other areas (such as directing, acting, and design), EIT is working to redress existent gender inequities in the Canadian theatre industry. The new website provides an interactive platform for artistic directors, theatre creators, and spectators to engage with women in theatre and find practical tools to address inequities in the sector. CANADIAN NETWORK FOR ARTS AND LEARNING NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Engagement. Communication. Creativity. Partnerships. These were key themes that emerged when arts educators, government officials, policy makers, artists, and others gathered for the 2015 Conference of the Canadian Network for Arts and Learning at The Royal Conservatory in Toronto.
