Season’s Greetings from SAA’s Executive Director
Another year has sped by at the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance! As the holiday season approaches, we extend warm wishes and heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you! You are an important part of the vibrant arts community in our province.
As another year comes to a close, it’s time to reflect upon accomplishments and look forward to what’s coming. In the last year SAA has increased focus on government relations and advocacy at both the provincial and national levels. Our economic impact report has been vital in these conversations and has gained traction within the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Recreation. We look forward to working with the new Minister, Hon. Alana Ross and critic Darcy Warrington.
This past year, as part of our Saskatchewan Arts Research Project (SARP), we asked both artists and the general public about their experience and engagement with and within the arts. With this information, we decided to generate a number of smaller, ‘breakout’ reports from the full report as a whole, to best showcase all of the findings. To view all of these reports, click here.
The SAA is the only organization in Saskatchewan devoted to supporting in-depth primary research on our provincial arts community.
During the holiday season, many elected officials stay in their home ridings; this can present a good opportunity to bring them season’s greetings. If you can, take the opportunity to talk about the good work you do and the many benefits the arts offer our province.
I encourage you to check out what the SAA is working on, I am proud of all of it. For example, take a listen to our podcast, Arts Everywhere featuring Saskatchewan artists, arts administrators and icons.
Thank you again to you and all our members – your engagement, passion, and dedication make our efforts meaningful, and together, we continue to build a stronger, more resilient arts sector – you truly add strength to our collective voice. I look forward to continuing our work in the new year. Have a peaceful and happy holiday season.
Best Wishes,
Em Ironstar, Executive Director
