This study was commissioned by the Irish Arts Council at the end of 2004 and undertaken by Hibernian Consulting. The centrepiece of the study was a survey of Irish theatre practitioners. Its aim was to assemble an evidence base on the economic and social conditions of Irish theatre practitioners and to do so in a way that would provide baseline data to allow future comparative studies to be undertaken. This executive summary presents key findings of the study.
